My Opuntia microdasys rufida 'minor' looked like this when the outer layer of the epidermis was dead but I don't know if it is the same here and what could have caused this.

It looks like the damage spidermites would cause.

In case of spider mites the damage normally is mainly in the apex. Also the offshoots are looking not better. Sunburned? Is it the sunny side? Or spider mites... At least the Aylostera is going to bloom, so it can´t be that worse. Wink
